Finding Motorola Router’s IP Address
Regular home network router has two different IP addresses, a LAN (Local Area Network) address that is used for local devices to connect to across your internal network, and a WAN (Wide Area Network) address that is used to connect to Internet.
LAN IP Address
Default internal IP address is listed in the manufacturer’s documentation. Administrators have the option to change this IP address during router setup or at any time later. To find your local IP address on a Windows:
- From the Start menu, click Run.
- In the Run dialog box, type: cmd, then press ENTER.
- At the command prompt, type: ipconfig, then press ENTER.
Your internal address will be the IP address for Default Gateway.
WAN IP Address
You external address is usually dynamically assigned by your ISP, or you are paying for static IPs. To find your WAN IP Address go to whatsmyip.tiff-tools.com.
